LOCAL RULE-PREFERRED LIES (from 30th Sept)
Following scarification and aeration work, preferred lies will apply on any closely mown area.
A closely mown area is any area of the course that is cut to fairway height or less and includes the fringe/apron around the green but not in a penalty area or on a putting green.
Players may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball within six inches of the spot where the ball originally lay, but not nearer the hole.
Players should mark the ball’s original position before lifting it. The ball may be cleaned before it is placed. Once placed, it is in play.
LOCAL RULE – CORE AERATION ON THE GREENS
Model Local Rule E-4: “If a player's ball lies in or touches an aeration hole the player may take relief under Rule 16.1d. But interference does not exist if the aeration hole is on the player's line of play. Penalty for Playing Ball from a Wrong Place in Breach of Local Rule: General Penalty Under Rule 14.7a.”
Driving Range: The Range will remain open when the course is closed unless specified here, and with the exception of a closure due to lightening.
The Short Game Practice area and Putting Greens close when the course is closed.
The Bowling Green closes when the course closes with the exception of a fog or waterlogging closure.
